Hello there! Yeah I wanted to continue my project based on that series.. :3
Here's what I made recently, the Terrible Terror!
As there are not much references on Google I made my own and then drawn a model sheet, which should be available pretty soon (mine is currently messy, I'll complete it with the 3D model, and make a cleaner version).
Hope you like it ! On the next post, that dude should be textured. I still have some humans to model too.. Not all of them are for this project, though.
Oh well as you may have noticed I'm trying to find a decent design to present my work, now, what do you think of this, for a first test? (at 3 am..x.x)
Also... I wrote some scripts while modeling this, for example a curve shape randomizer for the Terrible Terror's spikes, of course it can be used for anything which needs to be a bit random (plants, etc...) It is a python script, for Maya.
If some of you are interested, let me know, and I may release most of my scripts here.
Softwares used :
Autodesk Maya 2013 for modeling and all that.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 for the creation of the model sheet.
MentalRay to render.
EDIT : Modified the eyes' size, and did some tweaks on the mesh, as I think it's good now, I started the rigging.

I see on your mesh you have a few star junctions, a point where 5 or more vertices join together. It's not a huge problem but it can mess up smooth deformation after rigging
